When Isaac was forty years old, God selected Rebekah to be his wife (chap. 24; 25:20); and we have every reason to believe that they were both devoted to the Lord and to each other. The record indicates that Rebekah was the more aggressive of the two when it came to family matters, but perhaps that’s just the kind of wife Isaac needed.
